Nicole Brown’s passion for animals began the moment she entered the world her family would say. From bringing home strays, to stopping the car when there was an injured animal on the side of the road, Nicole connected with animals of all kinds. During her eight years in Los Angeles, while working as a Series Development Executive in the television business for Aaron Spelling and Jerry Bruckheimer, Nicole was introduced to an organization called The Amanda Foundation. Terry Austin, the Foundation’s founder and her highly trained staff worked diligently rehabilitating companion animals taken from local pounds and finding them homes. Nicole was hooked. Upon her return to South Florida in 2004, Nicole immersed herself in the local animal welfare community by working for the Humane Society of Greater Miami as the Director of Special Events to learn as much as she could about local animal welfare issues. During her time at the Humane Society she learned that many animals were being surrendered because their owners did not have the time to care for them during working hours or if they traveled. A bell went off.
Nicole’s desire to provide her hometown with reliable and committed in-home pet care became her mission. It began with the help of her four-legged friend Nicholas. During the last few years of Nicholas’s life, Nicole needed help with his care as she worked very long hours and was away from home for long periods of time. Not feeling comfortable leaving Nicholas at a boarding facility, Nicole realized she needed to hire someone to come into her home to provide him with the care he required – again a bell went off.
Nicole began her quest by asking as many pet owners as she could if they too had experienced her same dilemma – they had. And so it began, Miami Pet Concierge was created with the belief that if pets were provided with quality in-home pet care it would not only help save their owner’s time, but make for a more copasetic relationship between pet and owner.
